This morning as I woke up, I scrolled through facebook for a few moments. Quickly, my happy and chipper disposition I started out with turned into fear, angst, disgust, and dread. There is so much going on in our newsfeeds right now, in our WORLD! Political unrest and debate, a black dad killed in front of his 4 year old son, police shootings in Texas in protest of the man killed, and West Virginia floodings and the families now left with NOTHING! There is so much turmoil and heartache that it leaves my heart aching for those affected directly! I was going down that gopher hole of fear, and what all of this means for our country, and in turn for our families. So I said a prayer..... and as I prayed, I started listing off what I am thankful for. My list started to grow and grow and grow as I felt PEACE surround me from the realization that there is still so much beauty, love and goodness in the world as well. That goodness comes from being able to hold a baby in your arms and seeing heaven reflected in his eyes. It's being able to laugh and just be. It's the family and love that surrounds you through the mundane and the crazy. It's the beauty of nature and the warmth of sweet memories floating through our minds. If today is seemingly too hard to handle or the weight of the world is on YOUR shoulders, know that in a moment's time you can shift your thoughts to ones of GRATITUDE! (I'm not trying to make light of all the commotion going on around us either, just hoping to help others find peace through it) Prayer is a powerful tool...... so PRAYER + GRATITUDE is bound to change the course of your day! Challenge of the week: Start a gratitude journal. List a couple things that you're grateful for everyday and spend 5 minutes explaining WHY you're grateful!
Have peace this day friends!

Drinking water is kinda REALLY important!!!! Did you know that a newborn is 75% water when born??? That is a lot of water content. Then just one short year later, they drop 10% to 65% water content. Newborn: 75% water 1 year later: 65% water Adult men: 60% water Adult women: 55% water Elderly: 50% So basically, drying out is the aging process over time!! "There are variations, of course. The more buff you are (muscle tissue stores more water) the wetter you are. Because women generally have more fat cells, they tend to be a bit drier. Fat cells aren't as moist. The water that lubricates your joints, flushes your waste (I'm talking about pee), assists seminal reproduction, and absorbs shocks to your bones — as you age, the moisturizer in you slowly dwindles." We NEED water!!!! Remember, you're trying to eliminate free radicals, toxins, and any excess sloughing off of anything unwanted in the body. Your body works hard for you to get them out! Drinking plenty of water helps your body do that job. Give it what it needs. Amount? 1/2 to 1 oz. of water per pound. Blah blah blah RIGHTTTT???? Water is good for you... end of story!! Just drink!!!! Do it!!! 6 fun ways to up your water intake!!! 1. Infuse that water! Add some tasty bright fruit in your glass of water. Adding a couple drops of a citrus essential oil is delicious too. Flavored water that is GOOD for you... BOOM! (read this about internal use of oils http://bit.ly/29kuaNi) 2. Put a timer on for every HOUR.... a reminder is sometimes all we need. We get easy, I get it! 3. An app is a good way to keep it in the forefront of your mind as well. If you have a fitbit, that works too!! 4. Stop buying the juices! Especially if you're trying to get your KIDDOS to drink more water!! You are the one that buys the food and supplies with your money. If your kids are more prone to drinking juices when available, then don’t buy them or keep them for special occasions. If they're not around, they won't ask for them. 5. Get a gallon jug of water and mark up the side what time of the day the water level should be at. 6. Carry around a water bottle with YOU!
